Satire and Comedy

Students in the Medford Public Schools complete a Social Commentary Unit in their English classes at each grade level in middle school and high school.  During sophomore year, students study Social Commentary via Satire.  Students examine a wide variety of work in this genre, from the ancient poems of Horace to Swift's seminal essay "A Modest Proposal" to television programs starring Stephen Colbert and Sacha Baron Cohen.
